The 1-grave Plummer Cemetery (Meredith tax map coordinates R32-1) is located on Lot 24's highest point approximately 300 yards from Hermit Woods Road. This 1-grave cemetery containing the remains of Joseph Plummer is 15' x 20' in size and is enclosed by a granite, fieldstone wall with no gate opening in it. "History has it that Mr. Plummer, a hermit, dug his own grave, built a wall around it, and had his casket ready when he was found dead." Joseph Plummer's gravestone is standing upright, propped up by other stones. (This information was obtained from the Town of Meredith.) This cemetery can also be accessed from Carleton Road R32-5. Walk across the hay field to the left corner. There is an old road that leads directly to the cemetery.
