Established in 1907 by the American Securities Company as a burial ground for African Americans. The design which included curving drives with two wide circular sections in the Olmsted influence with space for seven hundred burials. The first record interment was that of Queenie Victoria Lee McClananhan, daughter of Richard and Amanda Lee and wife of John McClananhan in March of 1908 but further in the woods is a marker for George Keesee who died in 1905. Lincoln has suffered from vandalism, neglect and overuse with ten times the original burials she designed for.
