Cemetery notes and/or description: From the Find-A-Grave website: "The Judson cemetery is located about ¼ mile beyond the Judson Church, T-2-N, R-5-E, Section 28 on CR-1 (old Jack Springs Road). The cemetery is divided into two parts -- the white section and the Indian section. The cemetery is often referred to as the Head of Perdido or Judson-Moore Family Cemetery but in more recent times a plaque has been erected that designates the cemetery as the Judson Indian Cemetery, Est. 1800. Originally a fence divided the two sections, but in recent years the fence has been removed and a one-lane blacktop road marks the division. The land for the Indian section was given by Joe and Serena Coley. Joe Coley, a Negro, homesteaded his land and built his home about 400 feet from the present cemetery. He and his wife are buried in the right hand corner of the land they donated. The graves, along with several others, were originally marked with red sandstone rocks and a piece of tin with the names impressed with nail holes identified the sites. The identification marker has disappeared but there remains common knowledge and agreement that the graves will always be protected beneath the spreading branches of a large live oak tree. Both Joe Coley and his wife have been dead for more than 85 years. Source: Escambia County Historical Society"
