This is the new cemetery located on corner of CR15 & P7 this cemetery is affiliated with the Old San Acacio Cemetery (nicknamed Viejo Cemetery) down the road on the corner of CR 15 & Rd 12 which is located in the churchyard behind the old adobe San Acacio Mission Church (Capilla de Viejo San Acacio). The church was named after Saint Acacius (San Acacio). Saint Agathuius was a Greek centurion of the imperial army, martyred around 304. The Capilla de Viejo San Acacio was build in the early 1860’s and is the oldest standing church in Colorado. The oldest marked grave is from 1907 and the cemetery is full. A newer cemetery was built 3/4 mile south of the Capilla de Viejo San Acacio which is this cemetery here.
